Tradition for the sake of tradition is rarely a good idea. In fact, Jesus says, “…All too well you reject the commandment of God, that you may keep your tradition.” (Mark 7: 9 NKJV)

Traditions with purpose, however, can serve as markers of God’s goodness.  They can become Ebenezers: “Then Samuel took a stone and set it up…and called its name Ebenezer, saying, ‘Thus far the LORD has helped us.’” (1 Samuel 7:12
 NKJV)

The traditions of Horizon Prep have a specific purpose in mind: to support the Mission of Horizon Prep “to educate the whole student within a Christian Context of Spiritual, Social, Mental and Physical Development.  As an extension of the ministry of the Church, we exist to help students cultivate a relationship with God, through Jesus Christ, to discover and encourage their gifts and to inspire each student to realize his or her full potential in serving God in spirit and in truth.”

As we grow together, may we continually look to the Ebenezers of the Lord’s helping hand.
