Letter from Pastor Bob

Dear Parents,

When the Lord first called me to minister here at Horizon, one of my greatest desires was to see Him bless us with a private Christian school that would meet the needs of our growing church and the surrounding communities. Over the years that desire has become a vision to see that our kids receive the best. The growing disparity between what we as parents want and what the world provides has forced many to make significant sacrifices in order to place our children in environments that are rooted in Biblical values and steeped in academic excellence.

In addition to rigorous academic schedule here at HP your kids will be surrounded in a nurturing environment filled with people who love Jesus Christ. This experience cannot be underestimated because although the core subjects of the learning process are essential, it is the knowledge of God’s love that is the greatest gift we could ever provide. Every component of each day will challenge your child’s abilities while meeting his or her needs. Through various learning opportunities of enrichment your child will see the value of integrating their faith into each course and subject that is taught, whether in our chapel and scripture memorization program, computer lab, foreign languages, cultural events, field trips, or SSPs (Student Service Projects). I know this may sound impossible but you just likely may overhear your students remarking how much they love this place.

My prayer for you as well as all the families at HP is Solomon’s prayer in Proverbs 2:1-9
"My son, if you receive my words and treasure my commands within you, so that you incline your ear to wisdom, and apply your heart to understanding; yes, if you cry out for discernment, and lift up your voice for understanding, if you seek her as silver, and search for her as for hidden treasures; then you will understand the fear of the Lord, and find the knowledge of God. For the Lord gives wisdom; from His mouth come knowledge and understanding; He stores up sound wisdom for the upright; He is a shield to those who walk uprightly; He guards the path of justice, and preserves the way of His saints. Then you will understand righteousness and justice, equity and every good path."
